Sometimes you come across a deal that’s too good to be missed. And the Celerio, Suzuki’s new city hatchback, might just fit that description. Compact and frugal, with fuel economy reaching 65mpg, yet spacious, practical and generously equipped, this supermini is the smart choice for discerning urban motorists.
Although small – the Celerio is just 3.6m long, making it ideal for inner city environments – this supermini knows how to stand out. Angular headlamps and sweeping lines give it a distinctive appearance, while a choice of six bold colours captures the attention. With unique wheel designs depending on the trim level you choose, you can be sure your Celerio is styled to your liking, and when you opt for the SZ4 trim, chrome accents on the front grille and polished 14-inch alloy wheels provide added class.
Compact dimensions need not mean a struggle for interior space though. This is a car that makes efficient use of its cabin, with good head- and legroom for both you and your and passengers as well as a generous boot that will comfortably accommodate 254 litres of luggage. Fold the rear seats down and this increases to an impressive 725 litres.
The Suzuki Celerio makes getting comfy and staying in control simple too, thanks to slim windscreen pillars that allow all-round visibility and a range of adjustments on the driver’s seat and steering column. At your fingertips on every model are the DAB radio and CD player, which give you access to your favourite music, while upgrading to the SZ3 or SZ4 models adds air conditioning, Bluetooth and a USB connection so you can stay in touch on the go.
The new Celerio’s 1.0-litre petrol engine produces 67bhp, ensuring your trips around town have plenty of pace. It tackles twists and turns competently thanks to firm suspension and precise steering, while at higher speeds it’s settled and composed.
For modern drivers, fuel economy is important, and on the Suzuki Celerio it’s exceptional, reaching 65.7mpg on the combined cycle. Pick the SZ3 trim and the car’s overall efficiency benefits from the optional Dualjet fuel injection, which ramps fuel economy up to 78.4mpg and cuts CO2 emissions to 84g/km. This means you really get the most from your tank while enjoying a nimble, fun ride. Five-speed manual transmission comes as standard and delivers power efficiently and smoothly, while the SZ4 model has the option of a four-speed automatic gearbox.

Safety is paramount whether you’re commuting to work or heading out for the evening with friends. That’s why the Suzuki Celerio includes a series of active and passive measures including front, side and curtain airbags, a tyre pressure monitoring and daytime running lights, which help keep your car visible in all conditions.
Also as standard are anti-lock brakes with Brake Assist, which ensures braking power is maximised, and Electronic Stability Program, which helps to stabilise the car if you start to skid. If you’ve got little ones on board, they’re kept protected with child locks, while ISOFIX anchorage points mean child seats can be kept safely in place.
