New Suzuki Baleno

Bigger body. A lively personality.

The new Suzuki Baleno is all about generosity. Generous space, generous equipment, generous safety kit … this is a car which always comes up with something that you didn’t expect.

Design

Suave and stylish, the Baleno exudes sophistication. A distinctive grille with chrome detailing and large, wraparound headlights set it apart from its peers as it approaches, while a tapering roofline and a rear roof spoiler not only lend elegance to its appearance, they work to reduce drag too. The flowing lines and muscular tailgate hint at the power beneath the bonnet, and a choice of six paint colours finishes the model’s look with flair.

Step inside and you’ll find everything you need for a comfortable and dynamic drive. There’s space to spare thanks to a clever cabin arrangement, and tall passengers will have plenty of room to stretch out in the back. There’s also a large boot, which offers 320 litres with all seats in place; with the rear bench folded down, a two-level floor makes the load area almost flat.

New Suzuki Baleno Front

The Baleno comes in three trim levels, all of which are generously equipped. The SZ3 base model includes air conditioning, electric heated mirrors, automatic headlights and all sorts of convenient touches designed to make your life easier, like a luggage area light, cup and bottle holders and a remote fuel cap opener. A DAB digital radio and CD player keep you entertained on long journeys, while hands-free Bluetooth and a USB connector ensure you’re always contactable.

Upgrade to the SZ-T trim and you’ll benefit from satellite navigation, a reversing camera, 16-inch alloy wheels and front fog lamps, while the top-level SZ5 variant adds keyless entry, automatic climate control and a few exterior design tweaks.

Performance

Engaging and exciting to drive, the Suzuki Baleno comes with either a 1.2-litre Dualjet petrol engine, which uses two injectors per cylinder to improve efficiency, or the 1.0-litre 109bhp turbocharged Boosterjet petrol engine. Combined with a lightweight body and precise handling, this hatch proves nimble and sprightly whether you’re on city streets or heading onto the motorway. You can also choose between a slick six-speed automatic gearbox (SZ5 trim) and a nippy five-speed manual option.

Alongside this power comes a sense of responsibility. The Baleno keeps one eye on the environment with its excellent fuel economy – up to 67.3mpg on the combined cycle – and low CO2 emissions.

On the Road Price

Suzuki has a standard 'On the Road' price on all vehicles. This charge includes delivery to Dealer, number plates, first year's Vehicle Excise Duty and first registration fee.

Safety and security

Where safety is concerned the essentials are important, but the Suzuki Baleno goes the extra mile. Not only are passive features such as front, side and curtain airbags, rear child locks and an emergency flat tyre repair kit all included as standard, you’ll find LED daytime running lights with follow-me-home function available too. That means getting to the front door on dark nights is safe and simple, every time.

Active features are also in place to give you complete confidence on the road. Anti-lock brakes with EBD and Brake Assist ensure maximum braking power is there when you need it, while a tyre pressure monitor lets you know if your tyres are under-inflated. Standard on the SZ5 variant and optional on the others is Radar Brake Support, which uses a radar in the front grille to detect potential collisions and alert you to them. Should you fail to brake in time, it’ll apply the brakes automatically.
