Production of the new Toyota Corolla hatchback has begun at the firm’s Derbyshire plant. Returning to the UK after 13 years, the Corolla name replaces the outgoing Auris, and marks the model’s adoption of the Toyota New Global Architecture platform. Deliveries will begin in March and it’s available to order now.
As the world’s best-selling model globally, the Corolla is a market-leader in innovative engineering and technology. Two body styles are on offer: the hatchback and Touring Sports estate, both of which offer slick looks, dynamic performance, and a generous helping of features to make every drive enjoyable. The Touring Sports provides extra space for families who need it, with a 598-litre boot and ample room for five to travel in comfort.
Entry-level Icon variants sport 16-inch alloy wheels, an eight-inch infotainment system with reversing camera, and heated front seats – an impressive spec for a base model. Upgrade to the Icon Tech trim for satellite navigation, all-round parking sensors and a digital instrument cluster, or choose Design for all this plus rain-sensing wipers and privacy glass. Top-of-the-range Excel models add sports seats, full LED headlights and keyless entry.
Design and Excel variants are available with a 2.0-litre hybrid engine, meaning you can benefit from cleaner motoring. This unit produces 178hp, propelling you from 0-62mph in just 7.9 seconds. There’s also a 1.8-litre hybrid available with Excel trim, while the standard 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine develops 114hp and provides nippy performance. All engines come with CVT transmission as standard for a quiet, controlled drive.
The Toyota Corolla hatchback will start from £21,300, with the Touring Sports starting from £22,570. You can view our Toyota Corolla offer and discover more about the vehicle on our dedicated page, or contact the team at Hodgson Toyota today to place an order or arrange a test drive.
