Here at Hodgson Toyota, we don’t specifically strive to receive acclaim from others within the industry. In fact, our main aim is to simply ensure that all of our customers receive a level of service that is of the highest quality, whether when that is investing in one of our new or used cars, or taking advantage of our aftersales service.
However, while it may not be our goal to be recognised, it never does morale any harm to be acknowledged for the hard work each and every member of staff puts in every day. And, when it comes to Toyota dealers, there’s no greater acknowledgement to receive than the Toyota President’s Award.
Recently presented to the Hodgson Toyota Metrocentre Gateshead, this is the third time we’ve scooped the title, having been awarded in both 2015 and 2016. At a ceremony held in the beautiful city of Dubrovnik in Croatia, we were fortunate enough to be presented with the prize by Sebastian Coe and Paul Van der Burgh, CEO of Toyota GB.
This special occasion - which marked the 25th anniversary of the annual Toyota President’s Club Awards Ceremony - brought together representatives of leading Toyota dealerships from across the UK. To be able to take home one of the awards from the ceremony represents one of the highest honours available to Toyota dealerships and demonstrates that the level of customer satisfaction continues to be high.
In order to qualify for one of the President’s Club Awards, our dealership has had to be recognised for going above and beyond in terms of customer satisfaction for sales and servicing, as well as achieved excellence in such criteria as new vehicle market share attainment, vehicle delivery excellence, and employee training and certification. There is also the need to uphold the brand values of Toyota itself, thereby demonstrating an understanding and ability to communicate the virtues to others.
Another key factor to winning the prize, of course, is the feedback received from customers past and present. Among those providing feedback for our MetroCentre Gateshead dealership was Mr Stanhope - a customer that has now purchased five vehicles from our dealership. Mr Stanhope kindly provided feedback that congratulated us on our ‘continued outstanding focus on customer service.’
Another customer that spoke glowingly of our work was Mrs Thompson. ‘Excellent service from Jon Grant. He arranged for the car to be brought straight over from another dealership and was very informative from the outset. It was my daughter's first car and he also helped me decorate it for her. Many thanks from us both.’
It’s feedback such as this that makes our work so worthwhile, with the ability to help customers across the North East take ownership of a vehicle a big moment in people’s lives. To be able to receive the recognition of others in both their feedback and by picking up this award is thus hugely rewarding.
By bringing home the Tiffany crystal plaque, we’re able to position the award within our small trophy cabinet on our mezzanine floor within the Toyota MetroCentre Gateshead. This is not only so that our customers can share in our recognition, but it also helps provide added inspiration to the teams working within our dealership, thereby ensuring they continue to strive to offer nothing but the very best.
