Put simply, ‘Never knowingly beaten on price’ is our Hodgson Price Promise to you. It’s at the heart of everything we do at Hodgson Motor Group and part of the service new and existing customers have come to expect from us.

We’ve been a family business since 1959 and as such we’re committed to providing you with the very best prices where possible on any of our new vehicles. Our Hodgson Price Promise means you can have the confidence to know that you will get the best, like for like price on any new Toyota, Mazda or Suzuki vehicle.

We’re also keen to make this easy to understand. That's why we've created this page to explain everything you need to know about these three words; Hodgson Price Promise.

So, if you find that a Toyota, Mazda or Suzuki dealership is selling the exact same vehicle, offered at a lower price, we'll beat that price. We therefore don't expect you to find a better price elsewhere. But if you do, you can easily show us your genuine like for like quotation and we’ll get to work.

If we can’t beat the price or match it then we’ll reimburse your time with a £10 M&S Voucher.

Big Questions

How do we compare prices?

Firstly, we need to be sure that the vehicle is available through a competitor, rather than, for example, an online-only company. Our team also needs to be satisfied that the vehicle is the same make, model, size and colour, and comes with the same conditions of sale, delivery times etc.. that we offer.

What if you do find a lower price elsewhere?

If you do find the same vehicle for sale at a lower price at another Toyota, Mazda or Suzuki dealership, simply come back to us with your certificate and the written quotation we’ll do our very best to uphold our Hodgson Price Promise.

If we can’t beat the price or match it then we’ll reimburse your time with a £10 M&S Voucher.

What do we mean by a competitor?

Our local Toyota, Mazda & Suzuki competitors conduct business on the same basis as us. They have premises on a high street or a comparable retail site, which are freely open to the public on the UK mainland. They are within a 50-mile radius of our dealerships, stock the standard range of demonstrators and or showroom vehicles in line with manufacturer requirements. Their websites trade under the same brands and on the same basis and terms as their physical dealerships.

Businesses that trade on a different basis to Hodgson Motor Group are not deemed comparable dealership competitors. These include outlets that operate only on the internet or through online-orders, showrooms attached to internet-only companies, comparison sites, auction sites or membership clubs. Also, we don’t beat or match competitors who are in administration or closing their operation.

We are more than happy to consider an individual price match for a competitor which is further than fifty miles from one of our dealerships. Should we agree to your request, we would still require a written like for like quotation as previously stated.

What about stock availability?

We carry a wide range of stock, and for us to beat the price, our competitor must have the product either in stock or be available to order from the manufacturer. For delivery, we ask that the competitor can deliver in the equivalent timescales as ourselves.

What about temporary, exclusive or promotional discounts?

We do consider discounted prices, including any publicly available deals that are published alongside the vehicle at the point of purchase. We don’t consider special prices that are only available to certain customers, for instance negotiated prices or prices for groups such as account holders, reward cards, trade associations or club members. We don’t consider prices that are only available through third-party websites, or with voucher codes issued to individual customers or groups.

We do support various clubs, associations and account holders of which a detailed list of available on request.
