Toyota GB Message 25/03/2020

"Given the rapidly developing situation with the Covid-19 virus, Toyota GB would like to update customers on the situation with our dealer network, and with regard to servicing or repair work they may need on their vehicles. Our priority remains ensuring the well-being of customers, staff and partners during these challenging times.

Whilst we will continue to do all we can to meet the mobility needs of key emergency workers, the rapid escalation of the virus in Europe, and the effects of the increased countermeasures now in place to stop the spread, as announced by The Prime Minister, will inevitably have an effect on our operations.

From Tuesday, 24 March, all Toyota and Lexus new and used car sales facilities are closed but remain contactable to discuss your motoring needs.

The Toyota & Lexus network will do their upmost to ensure that emergency workers and NHS staff are kept mobile if their vehicle is off the road.

Customers should contact our national customer service team by email or webchat in the first instance. Members of Toyota Roadside Assistance can call for roadside assistance in the usual way. Contact details for your nearest dealer, along with advice on servicing, can be found at toyota.co.uk.

In the same spirit, if your Toyota or Lexus Roadside Assistance (TRA/LRA) has expired and not been renewed since Feb 1st, 2020, we will provide complimentary cover until May 31st. If your TRA or LRA policy is currently active we will provide a complimentary three month extension to it.

We will continue to monitor this evolving situation, especially with regard to government guidance, and will do our best to keep you informed as quickly as possible of any changes to the situation."

Suzuki GB Update 07/04/2020

Suzuki GB are receiving an unprecedented number of calls from customers and have warned that their call waiting times are much longer than normal. As a result they have developed their online support enabling most customers to defer their monthly payments by 1 month or 3 months via our self-serve application.

However if a customer is not up to date with their existing payments or has a payment due within the next 5 days then they will not be able to complete this online and will need to call us on 0344 824 0876 for Retail agreements or 0344 824 0088 for Lease agreements.

Also, some business customers will not be able to use their online services. They are continually updating information available for customers on their website to provide further support and guidance:

This includes:-

www.suzukifinance.co.uk for retail customers

or https://www.managemyvehicle.co.uk/index?BrandId=Suzuki for lease to help customers.

On ‘manage my vehicle’ lease customers can access the enhanced self-serve functionality to fulfil a payment deferral request as outlined above as well as to complete some of their more routine needs such as settlement requests, making payments and changing account details.

Suzuki are also continually updating FAQs to answer some of the key questions that they know customers will have at this time, for example, relating to vehicle collections.

Please note they are requesting that customers only call us if their query is urgent or are in financial difficulties and their payment is due within 7 days

Please refer to the following dedicated web pages on www.blackhorse.co.uk/coronavirus or www.lexautolease.co.uk/coronavirus which are continually being updated with further information and support.

Suzuki GB Update 27/03/2020

In light of the recent government announcement with regard to the closure of non-essential business services we would like to update you on how Suzuki GB PLC will be supporting you through this period.

All website forms for customer actions have been, or are in the process of being, suspended. This means customers will no longer be able to complete the following actions on the site: Test drive requests, posted brochure requests, Send to Dealer, Used Car requests, or Service bookings. A holding message will be placed on each of these pages or area of the sites, and a link to a page containing COVID-19 information that will be updated regularly. Users will still be able to download brochures from the website during this time.

Due to the recent COVID-19 outbreak, a decision has been made for all office based staff to work from home. All emails to the customerservices@suzuki.co.uk mailbox will continue to be monitored remotely, however our response times could be slightly longer than we would normally expect. We will be aiming to respond to most enquiries within 7 days. Regrettably, if call volumes are high, you may occasionally experience extended telephone call waiting times.

We would like to thank you for your patience and apologise for any inconvenience this may cause you during this difficult time.

Unfortunately, we are unable to assist you with Suzuki Finance queries from this office, because they are a separate company who are regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), they can be contacted on 0344 824 0876.

Kind regards

GOV UK Message 25/03/2020

New rules on MOT testing for light vehicles

Due to the unfolding COVID-19 situation, cars and vans and motorcycles due their MOT from 30 March 2020 will have their MOT extended by 6 months.

This will continue until confirmed otherwise.

This will allow vehicle owners to continue to be able to get to work where this absolutely cannot be done from home or do essential shopping.

Vehicles must be kept in a roadworthy condition and drivers can be prosecuted if they drive an unsafe vehicle.

We have published guidance for garages.

The government have also published the following guidance:

Hodgson Motor Group Message 24/03/2020

Dear Customers,

During these uncertain times, Hodgson Motor Group’s thoughts go out to all who have been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. We are a family-owned business and take our responsibilities towards the health and well-being of our teams, our customers and our wider community very seriously.

Due to the updated government measures we have taken the difficult decision to temporarily close our Dealerships from today 17:00, Tuesday 24th March.

Temporary Closures

While we are closing our dealership doors, we are still here if you need us online at https://www.hodgsons-newcastle.co.uk/about-us/covid-19/ and via social media. So whether you have an MOT or service booked with us, have placed an order and are awaiting delivery of a new vehicle, or if you have an enquiry on a vehicle in our stock we will do whatever possible to support you and keep you informed every step of the way.

In order that we successfully support our teams and our community, we respectfully ask that you please do not visit our showrooms or workshops. We would also appreciate your patience as we continue to navigate these uncharted waters.

We trust you understand and we will continue to update our website and social media channels following any further Government guidance. If you have any other concerns or queries, please contact your local Hodgson branch by via social media.

Please take all precautions to say safe and look after yourselves in these extremely challenging times.

Yours Sincerely

Steve Hodgson
