North East car dealership Hodgson has hit the top spot, securing an international award for excellent customer service.
The 2009 Toyota Ichiban European Customer Satisfaction Award recognises and rewards retailers that excel in Complete Customer Satisfaction. Criteria is tough as judging looks at key performance indicators including both sales and after sales.
Beating off stiff competition to secure the title, Hodgson was rewarded for its performance across the whole Hodgson Toyota group and its individual garages.
250 Toyota dealers in the UK and approximately 1500 in Europe were judged with Hodgson coming out on top after customers claimed to be completely satisfied by the service they received right from buying a new car to having a service or MOT carried out.
David Lowes, General Manager at Hodgson said: "To win the Ichiban award means so much to Hodgson as it recognises not only the exceptional contribution we have made to Toyota, but the dedication to our customers through our service and care. 2009 was a great year for the group and it was every member of staff that contributed in achieving this top honour."
Hodgson Toyota is the first dealer partner in the UK to win the award in both of its dealerships in the same year, making it the number one Toyota dealer group in the UK for Complete Customer Satisfaction.
With over 60 staff at both the Gateshead and Silverlink garages and selling over 2500 cars between them it is exciting times for the dealership.
Jon Williams, Commercial Director at Toyota GB presented the award to David Lowes at the dealership and said: "An important measure of business success is customer loyalty. Our goal remains unchanged: we aim to be number one in Complete Customers Satisfaction in every Toyota market. I am personally delighted to see a year-on-year improvement in both the quantity and quality of entrants."
